Making a Difference
Angelo Cremona is one of the pioneers and leading suppliers of the machinery for the plywood and veneer industry. We are currently serving and acting as partners for progress of major plywood producing countries in the world.
For over a 130 years we have been providing quality service and high technology production lines, building in the process, trust and confidence. To this we attribute our success.
To sustain our relationship with the existing clients and at the same time building up our base of satisfied costumers, we are placing substantial priority to enhance our skills, knowledge and expertise in providing innovative solutions for various wood species.
Before the turn of the century, the Cremona family operated a metal workshop in the northern part of Italy.
In 1901 the first registered Cremona company producing machines and equipment for the surrounding wood working factories. The traditional close relationship between Cremona and its customers resulted in the first peeling lathe in 1927 presented by the second generation Cremona as a notable step into industrialization of the woodworking industry.
In 1937, after further research, the first horizontal slicer presented a new way to explore the advantages of attractive veneer grain. Over a thousand installations confirm this innovative idea of Cremona.
In 1955, Mr. Angelo Cremona registered Angelo Cremona & Figlio, the name which until today remains synonymous with reliable and efficient machines for the production of plywood and veneer.
In 1957, with the workers safety and increase in productivity in mind, Angelo Cremona introduced automation in its plywood and veneer lines.
In 1959, a new department was created with the objective to research, develop and produce an advanced system for veneer drying. The success of the presented dryer was again demonstrated in over a thousand installed units, confirming the reliability of its performance.
In 1962, a vertical slicer, the most appreciated innovation for the veneer industry was introduced. Covered by numerous patents, the vertical slicer with a revolutionary system, cutting the block during the up-stroke cycle.
In 1991, under the name of ANGELO CREMONA SpA, a new group was founded. OLM and Sorelle Cremona joined forces with Angelo Cremona & figlio to establish one of the world leading companies for machines and equipment producing plywood and veener. The period of fusion and takeovers lead to a stability and economic growth that is still continuing to this day.
In 1998 saw the integration of Colombo & Cremona into the structure of ANGELO CREMONA SpA, creating one of the biggest plywood and veneer machine manufacturers worldwide.
Dating back to 2004, when we first introduced our revolutionary Vs machine prototype. This innovative machine completely transformed the slicing wood industry market, providing a more efficient and effective solution for processing high end wood materials. With the Vs machine, we were able to significantly increase production capacity, while reducing waste and improving overall product quality.
In 2006, we continued to build on this success with the introduction of our second generation ETA bar dryer for veneer and PD dryers for sliced material. These state-of-the-art machines quickly became a game-changers in the industry, offering unparalleled quality and efficiency in drying veneer. With its advanced features and cutting-edge technology, the ETA bar dryer and PD dryer quickly became the go-to choice for many manufacturers and sawmills.
Introducing our groundbreaking innovation on the market in 2010: the robot used for changing the blade of the peeling machine produced by Angelo Cremona. This robot has revolutionized the approach and the maintenance of our machines. It has not only increased the speed at which the blade can be changed, but it has also made the process safer for our workers. With the ability to operate autonomously, the robot allows for greater efficiency and precision, leading to improved overall productivity. We are proud to have introduced this cutting-edge technology and look forward to continuing to innovate in the field of industrial machinery.
2015: our latest innovation, the ER02 roller dryer. Our team has worked tirelessly to bring cutting-edge improvements to this machine, including a completely revamped air circulation and hydraulic system. The introduction of preheating air zones has allowed for more effective drying of resinous woods. Additionally, new fan impellers have been integrated to improve performance and efficiency. With these advancements, the ER02 is able to provide superior drying results while minimizing energy consumption. We take pride in our commitment to continuous innovation and look forward to providing our customers with the best products on the market.
Since then, we have continued to innovate and refine our machines, always striving to stay ahead of the curve and provide our customers with the best possible solutions for their wood processing needs.
